Setting the Standard Since 1957
I left school at 15 and went to work in an office in London. When my parents moved to East Grinstead I went to work at The Queen Victoria Hospital as a cadet nurse.
I went on to have two children which put paid to my nursing career. When they left school I went back to my chosen career and, in total, spent 25 years working for the NHS.
I met my husband Malcolm in 1990 while working at the Sussex Eye Hospital.
I occasionally went along to CMPE meetings as a guest with him and I went to my 1st National AGM in 1991, at Swansea, since then we haven’t missed a year.
In 1999 I became member of Sussex Branch CMPE and took on the job of Liaison Officer. Since then I have become National Council Rep and now Branch Chairman, a job I am very proud to do.
For the past 10 years I have been helping Malcolm with the office work.
For me the CMPE is not only about monthly meetings which are interesting but the social side where I get to meet people from all over the country. I have formed many friendships in the CMPE all over the country.
Sussex Branch is one of the largest Branches in the CMPE and we have a lot to offer members that wish to join:- meetings, open evenings, trips and much more. I would like to see more young members join, so the CMPE can move forward. I look forward to seeing you at one of our Branch meetings.
