Setting the Standard Since 1957
I left school at 15 and served a 5 year apprenticeship as a mechanic. I entered Further Education in 1980 as a Lecturer in Construction Plant Maintenance and I am currently Head of Auto/Plant Engineering at North Glasgow College.
Although I have only been a member of CMPE since 2009, I have been involved with the Glasgow branch for over 30 years in nominating our apprentices from the college to receive the CMPE shield for outstanding achievement.
During my time as a member I have served on the committee and have been Vice Chairman and I am now honoured to be Branch Chairman and I look forward to the next 2 years. My main objective will be to try and encourage more young members to join especially our young plant engineers as we must look ahead to the future. At present we have 2 young members on our committee.
I enjoy the monthly presentations and the social aspects of the CMPE Glasgow Branch and I have met many new friends.
I have been married to my wife Liz for 37 years and we have 2 sons and 1 grandson.
