Immediate Past National Chairmans Message

Message to the Association 2011

My year as Chairman has been challenging to say the least. We are currently going through the worst recession for years which certainly isn’t helping our industry.

I don’t have any specific projects that I am aiming to introduce in the coming year as my two predecessors, David Fielden and Pat Bowring, have started so many that I will have my work cut out trying to carry them forward. I would like to thank both David and Pat for their tremendous efforts in starting these projects, some of which have already changed the way we are perceived as an Association.

My aim is still to try to encourage younger people in our industry to join the CMPE because I feel it is the best Association to meet new people and make lasting friendships all over the country as Margaret and I have done over the years.

We have made good progress in the use of new technology like the internet and I hope this continues as we need to be able to use such technology or we will get left behind.

I would ask that all branches try to recruit new, younger members as they are the life blood of our industry and our Association.
